I received a reply to my personal e-mail from my birth mother last saturday evening providing me with her e-mail address so we can stop corresponding via classmates.com
I sat on the e-mail for a good week as life had been fairly busy and I honestly didn’t quite know what to say or how to say it. This evening inspiration took hold as I was sitting down to type out a quick “hey I got your message, will reply soon”, which turned into quite a more lengthy e-mail reply.
Still a bit anxious and trepidatious about this whole thing. It’s kind of tough putting yourself out there to someone who you are so deeply connected with by genetics, but in reality have absolutely no clue about. It has got to be scary on both sides.
But…. I have said my thank you’s and attempted to convey my appreciation for everything she did for me. And THAT is what I wanted to do. I can breathe a sigh of relief that I was able to say thank you before it was too late for me to do so. And for that, I am happy (since at the rate I -had- been going, I wouldn’t have done anything for another 30 plus years).
I did send her links to my personal web site for the pictures as well as to this journal for a better idea as to who I am. I guess we’ll see what happens from here…..
