Am I a racist if I prefer to return voicemails by e-mail for users whom English is obviously not their first language? Cause I feel like I am biased against ESL customers and actively pursue other methods of resolving their issues rather than calling them up and wasting my time.
And this is not to say that I have trouble with accents, as that is far from the case. I am actually fairly decent at understanding accents. I can understand 99% of ALL the dialog in the movie “Snatch”, whereas the majority of viewers seem to catch less than 50% of it.
But when you can’t vocally form coherent sentences, I am NOT going to return your call with another call. E-mail was MADE for people like you. Use it. You’ll get a better answer if you do since you’ll have time to formulate your question and will be able to re-read my answer as many times as you find it necessary without forcing me to repeat myself because you don’t understand the language.
Seriously people, get a clue and use the tools available to you. You’ll come off more clearly, and maybe even -smarter- if you do. At the very least, you’ll get an answer to your question, rather than “I’m sorry, what was that?” or better yet: “Excuse me, I didn’t understand what you just said”.
Better yet, just don’t call me at all if you can’t formulate a coherent sentence. And yes, that goes for all you slack-jawed hill-billies too.
I guess I just answered my own question… I’m not racist, I am just annoyed by everyone equally. I think it boils down to communication. If you can’t communicate effectively, I don’t want to talk to you.
Or maybe I’m just a Nazi…
