Being a sociopath, sometimes it is still really cool to meet new people.
… Last night was one of those times. Not a sociopathic time, but a time to meet cool people.
Jean and I -finally- got off our butts and met up with

and her husband. We ended up at Slow Bar in S.E. Portland for some burgers, which were outstandingly excellent. We regaled each other with stories of food and drink (oh come on, what ELSE would you expect?!?!) and generally got to know one another. It was truly a pleasure to meet up with two people who seem to enjoy eating and drinking as much as we do!
We look forward to meeting up again to continue exploring Portland’s food scene and generally enjoying the company of two cool new people… for the rest of you, this means we will be adding more places to our “Eating tour of Portland” when you visit again. Just fair warning 
Sometimes LiveJournal really amazes me…. Not only a way to keep in touch or vent out frustrations, but way to meet really cool people all across the land.
Oh YAY! My Portland buddies meet! Duchess took me to the Slow Bar when I was last there, and to this day it remains The Best Cheeseburger I Have Ever Eaten.
Oooh, they had a Winter version which had pancetta and Rogue Creamery Blue Cheese on it!
I’m dying over here!

The feeling is mutual! We both had a wonderful time, and we’ll have to make a habit of it!

But were the burgers as good as Dundee Bistro?
Hmmm. tough call. Dundee Bistro has a more simple burger where the meat totally shines while Slow Bar has an outstanding burger where the meat is fabulous, but the toppings are what really take it the extra mile… You’ll just have to come back and see for yourself!
Umm….ok. How’s April for you? Or maybe Memorial Day weekend? ‘though I really don’t know if I can go that long without a mind-blowing burger.
